The Stonebud Vase draws inspiration from the humble elegance of seed pods – natural vessels that protect, carry, and eventually release life. Just like a seed pod, this vase suggests both containment and potential: an outer form shaped by quiet intention, and an inner space left open to light, breath, and presence.
Its subtly layered shape mirrors the organic architecture of pods found in nature – forms that are both protective and generous, structured and soft. The gentle flare at the opening evokes the moment a seed pod begins to open, hinting at release and transformation.
Crafted from raw, concrete-grey stoneware clay, the vase is entirely handmade — partially wheel-thrown, partially hand-built – and fired at high temperatures for strength and permanence. Its unglazed surface allows the material to speak for itself, with a tactile finish that feels close to stone.
The Stonebud Vase stands 33 cm tall, and can be used with or without stems. It holds space – physically and emotionally – wherever it’s placed.
Each vase comes carefully wrapped in a handmade dust bag, sewn from 100% natural linen – a gesture of care, and a continuation of the ritual.
